Ready, Set, Go!

Wish y’all could have been in our church service today. Mike, our new pastor, had a prayer of consecration for us and invited the church to join us at the altar. It was overwhelming to sense the love and support. We are blessed!

We’ve been wined and dined by many wonderful friends and now it’s READY, SET, GO! Monday and Tuesday will be spent finishing getting READY (the suitcases are 95% packed). Wednesday will be getting SET – final suitcase weigh-ins. Thursday will be GO. Eric, our son, will drive us to Atlanta where we’ll catch an evening British Airways flight to London. Friday night will be spent there and Sat. morning we’ll board a plane flying straight to Nairobi. The schedule has us arriving in Nairobi about 9:00 pm (2:00 pm Eastern time) Sat. and spending the night in the city at the AIM mission guest house. Sunday we will finally reach RVA in Kijabe. Orientation for new teachers starts on Monday so our feet will get wet fast – that with jet lag, and adjusting to an elevation of about 7,000 ft. above sea level. Yes, we need your prayer as we adapt. The next entry will include some Kenya news!

  1. Thanks for the news. Your church service sounds heavenly.
We'll be praying for your safe travels and arrival to RVA.
    God bless you both!

  2. You will be missed. Thank you for being suragate grandparents to so many children. God bless and protect you. It will only take a few days for you to adjust to 7,000ft, maybe only one day. You are both healthy and physically fit, just move a bit more slowly as you arrive. God bless and keep you, and enrich your lives and the lives of those you touch.
    love,
    Steph
