Things We Learned in London

The lesson was short (24 hrs.) but here's what we learned:

1. London is huge and beautiful! It was sunny and very warm.
2. Don't take the underground (subway) during rush hour. Our hotel was near the airport so we took the underground into the city (about a 40 minute ride) to take a tour of center city. The two-hour tour in a two-decker open air bus was great. The return to the motel during rush hours wasn't - nearly 1 1/2 hours all standing and crowded.
3. Money exchange is a ripoff! We thought we would just use our credit card to avoid exchange charges. No such luck. The bus from the airport to our motel required British pounds. It cost us four pounds - about $7 each for a ten minute bus ride.
4. Keep to the left even when walking. Being directionality challenged, I (Charlotte) got dirty looks changing sides on the sidewalk. You better believe I am not going to try to drive here in Kenya.
5. We must go back to London someday!
